Sheikh Zakzkay Exposes Plan To Assassinate Him

The Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky spoke for the first time since the ongoing plan that has been exposed to attack Islamic Movement in Nigeria especially the Sheikh himself.

The leader spoke on the plan to detonate bombs in his residence. Speaking during Ramadan Tafsir at F.I.C the leader expressed that since the beginning of the month of Ramadan news of plan by the Government of Nigeria to kill him by bombing started emanating.

The assassination plan to kill him and to carry out widespread attack on members of the Movement (a Shia Group) is to be done in the last ten days of Ramadan, according sources.

Sheikh explained further that towards the end of Ramadan, according the Government Plan, there will be general onslaughts on Shia Movement and the government even informed some so called clerics of a planned demonstration by the Boko Haram Sect and that Government will deal with them severely. To that effect the leader added the Clerics were ordered to call on people not to have even a little sympathy on them, explained Sheikh Zakzaky.

The exposed Plan, he further said, contains the blue print on how to carry out the onslaughts on members of the Movement- Shiites, it outlined that 16-17 of September 2009 will be the days for the planned onslaught on the Shiites in Zaria. The paper added that the Shiites will be killed massively in these days.

The exposed paper pointed further that killings on members will continue in the name of killings of remnants of Boko Haram members who dispersed to different towns.

Sheikh Zakzaky however said the Plans were designed base on the belief that International Quds day shall only take place in Zaria only not knowing that Quds Day takes place in different cities and towns across the country.

The leader explained further that when the Security Agents achieve their aim of assassinating him by bombing , they would later mount check points along all routes to Zaria, as they know that people will rush to the city, thereby arresting any one resembling a member of the Movement and take him/her to bush and shot in an attempt to kill all Shiites.

The Security operatives, Sheikh Zakzaky narrated, planned in advance to avoid the likely outcome of what happened during Boko Haram killings who were killed publicly at checkpoints, and this brought about people's sympathy with them. So they prepared to carry out a massive killing on members of the Movement or Shiites as they called them in bushes and isolated areas. After they succeeded in killing those coming to Zaria in bushes, they would then attack the expected gathering in Zaria city to massively kill them with sole aim of uprooting the Da'awah altogether. The exposed plan outline further that the government security operatives would then diffuse into neighbouring villages to kill any member of Movement (Shiite) or any person who looks like them in the name of killings ran away Boko Haram members.

The leader added that unlike the previous Ashura attack on Members where they incited a group of Muslims against our gathering to achieve their vicious aim of killing Shiites, this time around they would carry out the attack by themselves.

Sheik Zakzaky added that on Wednesday the 7th of September they went with seven 7 vehicles full of well armed mobile police to the area where he resides. Even the state police Commissioner came by himself on that day and addressed them saying 'kashe mugu kafin ya kashe ka' meaning 'finish with the wicked before he finishes with you'. This shows how evil is the mission they want to carry out, sheikh Zakzaky explained.

Moreover, the Commissioner met with Emir of Zazzau on that day where they had a secret discussion behind the curtain. How ever what the two discussed leaked to members “ the news reached us that there is going to be a massive attack and arrest, and another step will be taken if that fails” he explained.

Sheikh added that it was confirmed by reliable sources from Abuja on the assassination plan to be by bombing the whole of his house with everyone in it.

During the planned assassination all telephone services will be cut off and those mobilsed for the operation would only communicate by radio signals from Abuja or Kaduna during the operation. They also plan to execute all plans of wiping out all members before Friday the 11th of September, leader noted.

Sheikh Zakzaky explained that people from different part of the country and outside happened to know all what is going on and made many phone calls asking what to do and he advised them to recite Jauhanul Kabir supplication.

Leader of the Islamic Movement explained further that people with regard to this case are divided into 3 categories: those who want kill others, the expected victims (members of the Movement), and the rest of the people.

On those who want to kill, the leader expressed that killings have been taking place for long as many devoted servants of God were killed. He added in the past he had never resisted arrest and he had even presented himself to police at different times and as such it is better if they come and arrest him, or take him to Court for execution, or shot him to death instantly than to kill him by bombing everyone in the house who have committed no offence.

He expressed that they should not bomb the house as they should know that his aged mother who is 88 years, children who are living with him and neighbours within his vicinity who committed no offence.

Speaking on Martydom of Imam Ali(S) Sheikh Zakzaky explained that when he was stricken with a sword by Ibn Maljum, the Imam said if he dies only the one responsible should be killed not many people as explained in the holy Quran.

He therefore called on people not to retaliate even if he is to be killed, and called on members to intensify prayers and supplication adding that even if they kill him the struggle and Da'awah shall continue to exist by God willing.

The Favours of God upon the revered Sheikh are many as he explained; God made him among those who devote to Islam and worship since childhood. He noted people with such sign have been extolled in many hadeeths of the prophet (AS). He added that he spent 30 years calling people to the path of God with steadfastness and this can be testified by all including his enemies.

On the rest of Muslims the leader expressed danger on how some Muslims are being used by enemies to fight fellow Muslims. He added that Zionists and enemies of Islam can do anything to achieve their aims even if it means killing all Muslims at once. He called on Muslims not allow themselves to be drag into such act. Whoever calls for Muslims blood is working for Jews and whoever calls people to the right path should sympathise with them and with those he sees as deviants rather than calling for their lives, Sheikh added.

Sheikh Zakzaky concluded by giving tidings of the establishment of Islamic systems even if enemies are averse.

Onovo: Corruption, Indiscipline Bane Of Police

Inspector General of Police Ogbonna Onovo yesterday described indiscipline, unprofessionalism and widespread corruption as the bane of Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking at the conference of senior police officers in Abuja, Onovo said, “It is apparent that indiscipline, unprofessionalism and widespread corruption have been the bane of the Nigeria Police over the years, a situation that has greatly hampered the quality of service delivery. Our image has been battered time and again, leading to a loss of confidence by the public.”

He said the essence of the conference was to discuss the problems facing the police and proffer solutions to them immediately and charged senior officers from the rank of Commissioner of Police and above to behave themselves and always act as role models for the junior officers.

“I expect you to task your officers and men accordingly. I shall hold you responsible for their actions and inactions. Officers must awake to their duty of supervision and control at all levels and must demonstrate effective leadership to the junior ranks,” he said.

He directed all Command CP's to enforce police ethics and in particular the provisions of Sections 339 and 340 of Police Regulations, which deals with standard of conduct of police officers and attributes of police officers respectively.

Fire Razes N500m Goods In Onitsha Market

Some sections of the Ose Market in Onitsha, Anambra State, were yesterday gutted by fire with goods worth more than N500 million said to have been destroyed. A witness who spoke with newsmen yesterday at the market said the fire started early yesterday when a tanker conveying diesel ran into a ditch.

He said the vehicle with registration number AA 281 EKP pulled down an electric pole and in the process started off a fire. According to him, the fire consequently spread into the market razing down more than 100 shops and destroying goods worth more than N500million.

“The fire continued to burn for several hours before fire fighters from Delta State arrived the scene around 10 a.m. All efforts to bring fire fighters from the Main market in Onitsha did not yield result as they complained of poor logistics and lack of functional vehicles,'' he said.

He said a family of six living within the scene of the incident escaped death by escaping through the River Niger. They however lost all their belongings to the inferno, he added. Another victim, Mr Tochi Odigwe, who spoke to newsmen, said he left his shop securely locked the previous evening after the day's business only to come back in the morning to meet the debris. He said wares worth more than N3 million were lost to the inferno, adding that he may find it difficult to start all over again. Another trader, who craved anonymity, alleged that the tanker was used for illegal bunkering which he said was rampant in the area and that the vehicle was moved into the area in the early hours of the morning to evade security checks. Mr John Nwele, the Police Area Commander in charge of Onitsha, described the incident as a pity, noting however that no life was lost.

All efforts to get the market executives to speak on the development proved abortive as they were holding a meeting. (NAN)
